JTAG

The Joint Test Action Group was created to find a solution to the issue of increased device density and BGA packaging making it impossible to fully test a PCB using traditional testing methods, and the IEEE standard 1149.1: Standard Test Access Port and Boundary Scan Architecture was created. This standard is known known by the acronym JTAG.

The Need for JTAG

INFINITY SUITE

Atomic Programming has developed a range of software products that help overcome the challenges of testing circuits with small form factor, high-pin count devices, by automating the functional test procedures on IEEE-1149.1 JTAG compliant circuit boards.

The Infinity Suite of software works with the Atomic Universal Hardware Platforms or generic FTDI plaforms based on the FT2232D or FT232H.

The tools within the suite provide complete board coverage. Infinity Express offers Universal support for In-System Programming (ISP) and configuration of JTAG compatible devices using generic SVF or JAM/STAPL files. Infinity Scan provides a powerful JTAG Boundary Scan function, with plug-ins giving full support for Production applications. Infinity APEL, with its own Embedded Script language, provides comprehensive functional testing and debugging of boards, including non-JTAG devices. Infinity MX32 supports JTAG programming of Microchip PIC32MX devices. Infinity JN516X supports JTAG programming of NXP JN516X devices

For complete board coverage, Infinity Studio gives you all the applications for JTAG programming, testing and debugging.

Each application is run from Infinity Launch Pad, which enables users to keep track of their current software version, check for any upgrades, as well as access recent files and support documentation.
